DeafTawk’s Pakistan Market Report highlights how mobile technology and sign language interpretation services are helping Deaf people communicate more independently in everyday life, including healthcare, education, employment, banking, and public services.
The study found that 88% of users reported an improvement in their quality of life, while 85% felt more accepted, respected, or connected. In addition, 82% said they could usually or always communicate independently in public, and 87% reported less reliance on family or friends for communication.
The report also highlights the role of DeafTawk in creating opportunities for sign language interpreters. Interpreters reported increased income, more job opportunities, and more consistent work through the platform.
Overall, the report shows how accessible mobile technology can support greater independence, communication, social inclusion, and economic participation for the Deaf community.
